Furr's fish still lives began in 1992 with ‘Red Mullet and lemon’. The early work features the mullet on a salcombe porcelain dinner plate with half a lemon and a brown / wooden background and shows the influence of the Spanish tradition. This subject was revisited in 2006 for this painting.
This is one of four fish paintings created between 2006-2010 featuring : Red Mullet, Red Snapper, Sea Bream and Sea bass.
